The push for greener technology, new consumer electronic devices, higher incomes and new applications is helping to push Chinese power management device consumption to record levels in the coming years with compound annual growth rate (CAGR) expected to be 7.7 percent from 2010 through 2015, accord- ing to a new IHS iSuppli China Research report from information and analysis provider IHS.

Solar Inverter Market Hits Speed Bump in 2011

Despite strong long-term growth prospects, the worldwide solar photovoltaic (PV) inverter space dipped slightly in 2011 as two big solar markets stalled or cut tariffs, even though overall losses in the industry were mitigated somewhat by growth in other parts of the world.
Shipments of PV inverters last year fell to the equivalent of 23.4 gigawatts (GW), down 1 percent from 23.6 GW in 2010, according to an IHS iSuppli PV Inverter Market Tracker report from information and analysis provider IHS (NYSE: IHS).

　中國證券網報導，近兩年各家電信營運商的業務重點都在3G普及化和寬頻提速，而隨中國移動加快TD-LTE試驗網的進程，預計2014年將是新一輪電信設備投資高峰期。

　LED需求回溫，摩根大通證券的報告指出，藍寶石基板因庫存已是谷底，需求持續轉強，藍寶石基板價格正醞釀漲價。藍寶石基板大廠兆遠（4944）、兆晶（4969），晶棒廠越峰（8121）旗下的台聚光電，2月開始營收可望轉強。

　2吋藍寶石基板價格於去年12月落底，1月持平在9美元，業者指出，由於下游磊晶廠庫存用罄，農曆年後LED需求轉旺，磊晶龍頭晶電（2448）廠產能利用率已回升到8成以上，2月基板價格醞釀漲價。

蘋果iPhone 5 規劃7月推出，iTV傳出年底或明年上市，再為供應商增添兩大成長動能，其中亞光首次以導光桿沾上「蘋果光」、夏普是主力面板供應商、鴻海再添電視新客戶，成為最大贏家。

業內人士表示，iPhone 5最大賣點之一，在於螢幕由3.5吋放大至4.2吋，面板在夏普六代廠生產，採金屬氧化物半導體（IGZO）新製程，與iPhone 4的低溫多晶矽（LTPS）製程相比，成本大幅降低50%，並能維持高解析度。
